Haggis Burgers

Updated: Jun 5

Cook time - 10 - 12 minutes.

Ingredients

- Beef mince

- Haggis slices

- Cheese slices – the meltable cheese of your choice.

- Salt

- Pepper

- Vegetable oil

- Burger bun of your choice

Tools and Equipment

- Medium size bowl

- Scales (digital or analogue)

- Small plate

- Teaspoon

- Plastic gloves

Method

Step 1

To start making the burgers, weigh out 125 grams of beef mince and 125 grams of haggis and place inside the medium bowl.

Step 2

Wearing a pair of plastic gloves, use your hands to combine the beef mince and the haggis into a large ball.

Step 3

Split the ball of mince into four equal balls and season with a light sprinkle of salt and black pepper. Place each ball onto a small plate.

Step 4

Add a teaspoon of olive oil to a frying pan and set it to medium heat. Once the pan is warm, place the four portions of beef + haggis in the pan.

Using a spatula, press down and flatten each of the portions into a patty shape. Cook the patties for two minutes on this side.

Step 5 Once browned, flip the burgers and flip them, to cook for another two minutes.

Step 6

Once cooked, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt. To create two portions worth of burgers, place a patty on top of another, and repeat. To create four portions worth of burgers, do not stack the patties.

Step 7

To serve, place the desired number of patties onto the burger bun of your choice, on a plate, with your favourite sides.
